this sounds promising. i like american lesion, and another softer type of album is welcomed. his voice is so God-like, he could cover britney and pull it off - maybe.
also, i really probably (without proof of any sort), doubt that greg's music, could come straight out of the 19th century...but i've never heard more than the one song, so i could be wrong.
rest assured i'm buying this sure-to-be-gem.

My take:
"Afraid to Run? is about a young woman who has landed in a small town and a government job. She feels that she is sacrificing herself just to earn a decent wage, stifled as a public servant, and crammed into the mold of an assumed model citizen. He is telling her to stand her ground even when the head baron is dangling a juicy salary in front of her history of destitution. She is a punk at heart and he knows that she?ll want to break the mold for all to see its useless form, but he cautions her against seeking such redemption. He is gentle toward her and does not expect her to follow his words, but he needs her to understand that running from the government is still an option. If she keeps the job, he suggests that they rendezvous in her town of Nowheresville. If she chooses to run, then he hopes to find her finding him running. He wants her to head anywhere but in a northern direction, when she is running; the thriving town must be in Canada. They must be in love.

Yeah, mis-spelling the name "Graffin" for "Gaffin" kind of takes the wind out of the article's sails, but I'm glad it was a good review of the cd itself. Although I don't believe that you have to be American to enjoy American roots/folk music.

In the future, don't post "reviews" where the artist's name is mis-spelled in the first line.
