I agree fully with Watcho. I was at the Houston show as well as the Austin show and the difference between the sound at the shows was night and day. Do What You Want was pretty much all drums and bass with some vocals, but no guitar what so ever. As they progressed through the set, the sound got better and would be decent at times, and then be horribly mixed for no reason what so ever. Eventually they jacked up Brian's guitar, so it was bearable.
I was trying to get into the show and show my love for BR, but the far majority of people around me were just standing there and either drinking or texting. I guess I can't expect more than that from a festival show though. One thing that pissed me off was that when the show ended, I heard some guy talk about how he didn't understand why the last song was longer than 1 minute long. He said "back when they were a punk band, that song was super quick, like all punk songs would be." Clearly the guy had no fucking clue what he was talking about and failed to realize that Fuck Armageddon has always had an instrumental intro. At the end of the day though, I got to see Greg Graffin's book tour and Bad Religion twice within 48 hours, so it was a pretty awesome weekend to say the least :-D 11/08/2010 at 15:10

WHOA WHOA WHOA. "Texas" didn't let them down, Austin sound dudes let them down and they're somewhat famous for it. It's one of the never openly-discussed rules rock attendance that while Austin is successful at attracting bands and organizing them in cool configurations, those lineups are 95% certain to be put in the hands of someone who really, truly does not give a hoot about the sound. Add to that 85% of the crowd is going to be talking through the entire show, probably about how it was better last year.
The sound in Houston was epic, in a room that can be problematic at times. Baker and Jay were represented in the mix particularly well. 11/08/2010 at 10:44

worst sound i have ever heard at a bad religion show. ive been to probably 25 BR shows over the years and this was far and away the worst sounding yet. NO backing vocals. jay and brian were screaming at the top of their lungs and NOTHING came through the mikes. no bass either. and the drums were horrid. really felt sorry for the boys this night - texas let them down.
